Hi! I am Jenny Purdy and I am going to be your child's teacher this year! I am thrilled to have your child in my class! First Grade is a year filled with lots of growth and we are going to learn so many new and exciting things together.
This is my 11th year teaching, all but my first year have been here at Jackson Elementary. (My first year I taught at ELC!) I have taught 4K, kindergarten, and 1st grade. First grade is my favorite! I am very passionate about teaching! I truly and deeply believe that every child can learn with the right tools and motivation. Everyone in my classroom deserves to be there and will grow in their learning! I focus a lot on the individual child and how they learn best. I do a lot of thinking outside the box. My oldest son Will has autism and he is extremely bright however doesn't learn like his peers. He has made me a better mom and teacher. He pushes me even more to want to think outside the box if something isn't working or I am not seeing the growth I want. I love teaching and I love using technology as much as I can! :) My classroom is my other family and I feel it is very important that we work together as a team. Your child will make even more growth if you read, write, and practice math skills at home! Want to know a little about me? When I am not planning lessons, grading papers, or exploring new technology to try in the classroom... I am a mom to 3 awesome boys which keeps me super busy! I love traveling, scrapbooking, and baking! A few of my favorites:

Fun Fact #1:I have 3 super, fun, loving, busy boys! Will is a 3rd grader and Lucas is a 1st grader this year at Cooper Elementary. Aiden is 3 years old and goes to ABC Preschool.

Fun Fact #2:I love to travel! I have been to many amazing places. I even got the opportunity to teach Preschool (4K) in Australia!

Fun Fact #3:I grew up in Osceola, WI. This is a small town on the Minnesota/Wisconsin border. Osceola has a population of only 2,511 people. My graduating class was 134 students! I lived there my whole life until I went to UW-Stout to get my teaching degree. Then after college my husband & I moved here for jobs and never left!
